Maddi Neff

Degree: B.S. Agribusiness Management & Rural Development, Equine Management minor, May 2014

Career: Neff is the store manager of Boot Barn in Fort Collins, Colorado. Neff manages a team of 15 sales associates and four floor managers to ensure they are providing excellent customer service and impeccable product knowledge within the western retail industry. Shortly after arriving at the company Neff instilled in her employees, key business values like teamwork, accountability, hard work, and self- motivation. In 2016, Neff was recognized by her peers at Boot Barn’s national meeting for good citizenship, lending a helping hand to other store managers, and leadership.

Internships: As a WVU student, Neff completed internships at several large working ranches dedicated to providing recreational equine activities to the public. Along with her work at a boutique western store, the experiences solidified her interest in retail sales.  

About attending WVU: “My coursework and internship experiences taught me to think and act like a manager to inspire others to achieve success. I learned to multi-task and think on my feet, allowing me to make decisions in the workplace that improve the employee and customer experience.”
