Career: Delaplaine currently works for an animal health distribution company, Nelson Wholesale that is based in Brownwood, TX. She visits feed stores on a weekly basis and sells anything from dog food to horse supplements and even lawn and garden supplies. Delaplaine previously worked for a leading animal nutrition company, Manna Pro, as a Sales and Merchandising Associate where she traveled all over the state of Texas to dealer feed stores to promote and sell Manna Pro products. She owns her own business, Twisted K Designs, specializing in agriculture related graphic design and marketing.
Internships: The summer after her junior year, Delaplaine was selected as an intern for Zoetis Animal Health. This internship is what made her decide to add a second degree in Animal & Nutritional Sciences so that I could pursue a career in nutrition and animal health.
Claim to Fame: During her senior year, Delaplaine was the Regional High Point Rider for both the English and Western Equestrian teams, and went on to claim the All-Around High Point Rider Award at IHSA Nationals in 2013!
WVU Student Organizations: Delaplaine was the President of the WVU Equestrian Team her senior year. She conducted meetings, managed home shows, and maintained open lines of communication between members, coaches, and advisors.
About Attending WVU: “I loved how tight-knit the Davis College was and the relationships I was able to build with fellow students and professors. Even though I grew up around horses and cattle, I still learned a lot at WVU. The university has a lot to offer and sets you up for your dream career. One of the best parts about it is that I still keep in touch with some of my professors and I know that they will always be there for me if I ever need any support or guidance.”
