About

LF and Dickie at the Ed Center

West Virginia University’s Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design has a well-rounded equine studies curriculum with diverse student opportunities in and out of the traditional classroom.

We offer a minor in equine studies with three career-driven areas of emphasis in equine science, equine management and equine assisted activities and therapies. Most of our students major in Animal and Nutritional Sciences or Agribusiness Management, but students from any major may enroll.

The equine studies program is rich in hands-on experiential learning and has faculty and instructors who are experienced horse people from diverse backgrounds. During their academic career, students in our program have opportunities to be involved in equine-specific student organizations, as working students and in internships.
